VAUX BREWERY
SUNDERLAND

The Brief

Design and create a range of six beer cans that accurately reflect the brewery's core values. Specifically, aiming to capture Vaux's strong sense of community, rich heritage, and local pride in the area where it operates.

VAUX BREWERY   SUNDERLAND

Theory
Vaux has a rich and illustrious history that is deeply ingrained in the heritage of every Sunderland citizen. While it may not necessarily hold the same level of appeal for those who grew up before the brand's resurgence, I believe that by highlighting
all things Sunderland through the cans and the associated promotional activities, we can create a sense of celebration and appreciation for the city's unique culture and identity. Each can design incorporates a reference and a narrative to the local area and heritage in some capacity, resulting in a product that is both unique and reflective of the local community.

I aimed to demonstrate the brand's potential for expansion into other marketing channels. Specifically, I proposed a collaboration with football and Sunderland AFC to explore new avenues for brand exposure and outreach. This would enable the brand to tap into the vast audience and community associated with the sport and the club, potentially leading to increased brand recognition and loyalty.

Vaux Badge

The Badge
The Roker Roar design added another dimension to the Vaux brand by creating a football-inspired badge that can be used as an identity for any football-related or Sunderland-celebrating design. The badge utilises a colour palette synonymous with Vaux and Sunderland AFC, and the back piece can be modified to suit any relevant topic. With this badge and style, there are countless opportunities to create endearing t-shirt designs that celebrate all things Sunderland, thereby revitalising the Vaux brand and capturing the hearts of younger generations.
